Kurumba House is a newly built two double bedroom beach fronted property. The house is situated on Mahawella beach which is a stunning 3km deserted beach with a fishing village located at the far end of the sand strip. The accommodation at Kurumba is old colonial style, with two double bedrooms and en suite shower. The bedrooms have air con and also over head fans (for those who don’t like air con) which keep the rooms cool and mosquito free. The house has a large veranda, with a high roof and ceiling fans. The living area is outside and comprises of comfortable modern cane furniture with views straight over the garden onto the beach.. The dining area is at the far end of the veranda outside the new fully equipped kitchen. There is wi-fi at the house. At the bottom of the garden there is a thatched pavillion, where you can lie sheltering from the sun and snooze listening to the sound of the waves. The pavillion is ideal for massages and yoga practice. We have recently built a sunbathing deck at the bottom of the garden by the gate onto the beach with comfortable sun loungers. With hammocks and swinging beds there are plenty of places to chill out and escape from the world. The land was purchased in 2002 and the house finished in December 2009. The beach is great for swimming and boogie boarding and shallow so good for small children. We are building a swimming pool which will be ready by the end of November 2013.
